  Many players eager to jump into Final Fantasy XIV's highly anticipated Endwalker expansion have hit big queues since the game launched in early access on Friday. Part of the reason for the long waits is that the global chip shortage has prevented Square Enix from getting enough servers to handle demand, according to a blog post from producer and director Naoki Yoshida. Since this summer, FFXIV's development team has been working on changes to improve the server congestion problem. The team took measures like increasing each server's maximum capacity for simultaneous logins and implementing an auto-logout feature that removes players from the game after 30 minutes of inactivity. While these measures helped somewhat, they didn't prevent players from frequently having to wait in long queues to log in - something that's been exacerbated by the launch of  FFXIV: Endwalker .
